Months after a number of MCU X-Males forged members have been introduced at D23, yet one more fan-favorite X-Males character’s identify is making its manner by means of the rumor mill, this time with Euphoria and Starvation Video games actress Hunter Schafer’s identify reportedly hooked up. It’s been a very long time coming for the MCU to totally launch the X-Males, however lastly, that undertaking is formally underway, with the anticipated launch date of the upcoming X-Males film presently set for Could 5, 2028. With that announcement additionally got here the casting selections for main characters like Storm (Maya Boyd), Minster Sinister (Adam Driver), Rogue (Inde Navarrette), Professor X (Christopher Abbott), and myriad others.
Nevertheless, one notable absence from the presently confirmed characters is Mystique. Particularly, reviews from scooper James Mack counsel that Schafer is in “critical talks” for the position, though no deal has reportedly formally been struck. Hunter Schafer Is Excellent for Mystique
Already, we all know that Mystique goes to be in Avengers: Doomsday, with Rebecca Romijn reprising her position from the early 2000s movies. Many suspect that Doomsday will, sadly, see these former X-Males killed off, thereby making manner for the MCU’s rebooted X-Males (even if these are completely different universes, and so they might due to this fact co-exist). Whether or not the MCU obliterates the 2000s X-Males on display or not, although, a brand new period for this franchise is coming, and the casting selections, equivalent to Sadie Sink as Jean Gray, have already made it clear that the MCU is on the lookout for a youthful group of X-Males than some is perhaps anticipating. In gentle of that, although, Schafer looks like an much more excellent alternative.
Nevertheless, simply as an actress on the whole, Schafer could be good on this position. She has confirmed that she has the power to play a quieter, extra mysterious character, and she will be able to additionally little doubt pull off a extra advanced (and even, relying on the interpretation, villainous) position. Given her filmography up to now, which has included the aforementioned main names, there’s additionally little concern that she would have issue becoming a member of an enormous franchise just like the MCU. If something, it’s greater than time for her to land a task as big as this one, and it’s the kind of transfer her followers have been hoping to see. Now, it’s only a query of whether or not it is a legit scoop or only a rumor. Hopefully, it’s the previous.
