VisionQuest is lastly about to be launched on Disney+, and whereas followers are excited to see this new period of Imaginative and prescient’s bigger MCU story, a big variety of Marvel followers are additionally ready to see whether or not the present will lastly imply the return of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch—and Bettany has simply hinted that she may have a job within the present (type of). VisionQuest is alleged to be the third and ultimate installment within the Wanda trilogy of reveals, and it’s maybe for that motive that audiences are so satisfied that this shall be her return; nonetheless, Imaginative and prescient actor Paul Bettany has simply hinted that her position gained’t be fairly what these viewers are on the lookout for.
In a latest interview, Bettany mentioned of Wanda, “Falling in love with Wanda is basically how Imaginative and prescient understands humanity, so sure, she’s very a lot a presence for him and all the time shall be, as a result of household is endlessly.” Whereas candy not solely as a result of it confirms that Wanda helped Imaginative and prescient discover his humanity but additionally as a result of “household is endlessly” is a line immediately taken from WandaVision, the concept that Wanda’s ‘presence’ within the present is kind of completely different from the full-fledged character return that many are hoping to see within the sequence is prone to disappoint followers. But, that isn’t even essentially the most fascinating level to return out of this interview. Reasonably, becoming a member of Bettany was Tommy actor Ruaridh Mollica, and his insights about Wanda proved significantly compelling.
Tommy’s Emotions About His Mom in VisionQuest Have Fascinating Implications
Already, we’ve seen the return of the opposite Maximoff twin, Billy, in Agatha All Alongside. In that present, nonetheless, Billy made it fairly clear that whereas he totally sees Tommy as his brother, he doesn’t see Wanda as his mom, and he even appeared to have a good bit of resentment in direction of her. The identical is unquestionably not true of Tommy. Within the VisionQuest trailers, Tommy may be very clearly looking for his mom and does really see her as his true mom. Including to which are Mollica’s latest feedback in the identical interview with Bettany, during which he explains, “I really feel like I’m type of studying about my mom by way of Imaginative and prescient within the present, and I feel there’s a saying in psychotherapy or one thing: the mom is like the unique wound, and it’s the factor that you just maintain so pricey. I get to go on this journey with my father, after which all I yearn for is mum, you recognize? I’ve all these reminiscences of her and find out about how superb she was by way of the eyes of affection in Imaginative and prescient. It’s actually lovely.”
What’s significantly fascinating right here is the concept that Tommy shall be seeing the entire positives of Wanda as a result of his understanding of her is being fashioned by way of Imaginative and prescient’s love for her—suggesting that Wanda’s murderous rampage in Physician Unusual within the Multiverse of Insanity gained’t actually be enjoying an element. When the brothers reunite, as they virtually actually will whether or not it’s on this mission or in some future film or present, that can certainly imply the 2 being completely at odds with each other on the subject of their perspective on Wanda, and that shall be fascinating to look at play out. In the end, although, they’re each proper. Wanda is an extremely complicated character, and each Tommy’s view of her as a loving associate to Imaginative and prescient and Billy’s view of her as a darker, extra violent determine are correct.
