Lando Norris says he has “no excuse” for his poor efficiency in dash qualifying at System 1’s Singapore Grand Prix.
After taking seventh in SQ1, 0.020s forward of McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, and third in SQ2, 0.534s sooner than the Australian, Norris ended up fifth within the top-10 shootout. He was outpaced by Piastri by 0.133s in that remaining part.
“I simply do not assume I put collectively an excellent lap,” the Briton admitted. “That was all, no excuse.”
After being hit by gasoline injection points in Baku and Malaysia, which hindered the MCL40’s high pace, McLaren launched a repair at Marina Bay.
