Forward of the Pokémon World Championships, it appears the official Pokémon account on the social media platform ‘X’ (previously often known as Twitter) has been hacked.

Thankfully, all the pieces is now again to regular, with The Pokémon Firm issuing an announcement acknowledging the official account had been “quickly compromised” for about half an hour. Throughout this time, followers might have seen posts “selling a cryptocurrency”.

Here is the official assertion through Kotaku:

The @Pokemon deal with on X was quickly compromised earlier for ~half-hour.

We’re conscious that our X account was accessed with out authorization and used to publish posts selling a cryptocurrency.

These posts weren’t created or authorized by Pokémon and have been eliminated. We’re sorry for the confusion and recognize your endurance.

On the very least, take into account this a reminder to not work together with something on-line which may look suspicious, even when it is an official account!
