Bow Echo has been retired from racing after the shock information that George Boughey’s unbeaten star has suffered a setback in coaching.
Having gained the 2000 Guineas, the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Sussex Stakes this season, Bow Echo was being lined up for Sunday’s Prix Jacques le Marois.
Saying the shock information on his X account, Boughey mentioned: “It’s with nice disappointment that we now have to announce that Bow Echo has had a setback and shall be retired from racing.
“It has been the honour of a lifetime to coach a horse like Bow Echo. He has given us some extraordinary days and brought everybody concerned on a journey we’ll always remember.
“To retire unbeaten, having gained the 2000 Guineas, St James’s Palace Stakes and Sussex Stakes says all the pieces about what an distinctive racehorse he has been.
