180 Studios presents new Ryoji Ikeda set up, data-cosm [n°1]

The immersive new work, commissioned by 180 Studios, expands on concepts explored in his acclaimed data-verse venture.

180 Studios will current the world premiere of Japanese audiovisual artist Ryoji Ikeda’s newest set up data-cosm [n°1]. The positioning-specific work transforms information from nature right into a large-scale, immersive expertise, and opens on 15 October, 2025. Tickets can be found now from the 180 Studios web site.

Commissioned by 180 Studios, data-cosm [n°1] is described as “a complete sensory encounter that transforms huge datasets into an immersive audiovisual setting, exploring the intersection of artwork and physics on an unprecedented scale.”

The set up, which invitations guests to lie down beneath an unlimited LED ceiling whereas being enveloped by Ikeda’s soundscapes, “charts the total spectrum of information in nature – from the microscopic world of particle physics to the macroscopic scale of astrophysics.”

Ikeda’s new work expands on concepts first explored in his acclaimed data-verse venture, and runs at 180 Studios till 21 December, 2015.

data-cosm [n°1] continues a protracted historical past of collaboration with 180 Studios and The Vinyl Manufacturing unit, which started with the premiere of Ikeda’s audio-visual set up supersymmetry at Brewer Road Automotive Park in Soho, London. In 2021, 180 Studios hosted the biggest exhibition of Ikeda’s work so far, that includes large-scale installations and data-driven work from throughout his profession.
