Though Bucky Barnes/the Winter Soldier has by no means had a solo film or TV present within the MCU, regardless of arguably coming considerably shut with each Captain America: Civil Struggle and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, there is no such thing as a query that he’s a fan-favorite character and Sebastian Stan is a fan-favorite actor within the bigger franchise. In truth, even regardless of Bucky’s advanced historical past within the MCU—largely via no fault of his personal—followers have continued to like and need the perfect for the character, particularly if meaning further display time for Stan. Most just lately, Bucky was a pivotal a part of Thunderbolts*, and we already know that Bucky might be in Avengers: Doomsday (however many are fearing that Doomsday may very well imply Bucky’s MCU finish).
It appears Stan himself has been figuring out some new story concepts for the character, although, as he just lately revealed in a New York Journal interview that he “half-jokingly” pitched a derivative film centered on Bucky Barnes to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Given the truth that we’re listening to about it now and contemplating that Stan already stated this was, at the least partly, a joke, it appears unlikely to ever actually occur. Nonetheless, Stan’s Winter Soldier film thought was really good and ideal for the character, and Marvel actually ought to think about it.
Stan Pitched a “Sicario-Esque” Winter Soldier Film
Based on an X put up, Stan’s latest New York Journal interview features a description of a “Sicario-esque” Winter Soldier film that he pitched on to Marvel Studios/Kevin Feige, saying, “We hold an actual small funds. It’s a couple of man who thinks he acknowledges somebody from his previous that had one thing to do with when, , he was brainwashed, and he will get obsessive about this particular person. He goes on an entire journey to strive to determine who this particular person is. It’s a thriller.” Apparently, Feige stated, “Yeah, that sounds cool,” however seemingly not in a means that urged such a mission would ever actually enter the pipeline. But, if the web is any indication, followers actually appear to have an curiosity on this storyline ultimately hitting the large display.
In response to that very same X put up, one commenter wrote, “HELLO THAT SOUNDS INCREDIBLE?!?!?!” and one other stated, “G—t Feige, give him his film!!!” One other commenter merely posted a gif of Peter Griffin from Household Man saying, “Why are we not funding this?” For now, it nonetheless feels somewhat unlikely that this movie will occur, even with followers seeming to push for the thought on-line. If there have been any critical talks, and even presumably indicators that there may at some point be critical talks, it’s uncertain Stan could be casually mentioning it in interviews now.
In fact, nobody ought to ever actually say by no means on the subject of the MCU—simply have a look at a number of the surprising selections we already know have been made for Doomsday. Maybe this Winter Soldier film actually will come to be, and it’s troublesome to see that as something aside from an awesome alternative, as a result of this story really looks like an ideal match for the character and for Stan.
