Though there are a lot of rumors about Avengers: Doomsday, one of the crucial distinguished continues to be that Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch could lastly be making her return after her obvious demise in Physician Unusual within the Multiverse of Insanity. From primarily the second Wanda seemingly destroyed each herself and each model of the Darkhold all through the multiverse, followers started theorizing about how she might come again. This wasn’t simply because the character is widespread, although (though she definitely is). For one factor, Wanda’s story nonetheless felt very unfinished, particularly after Agatha All Alongside revealed that her sons, Billy and Tommy, had survived the destruction of the Hex, and their souls had entered completely different our bodies. For a lot of, that felt like a reunion that ultimately needed to occur.
Furthermore, there may be loads of cause to imagine that Doomsday can be the proper likelihood to deliver Wanda again, as there may be a whole arc within the comics that sees Wanda affected by amnesia, engaged to be married to Doom, and ultimately discovered and saved by her reincarnated sons Tommy and Billy. With Agatha All Alongside confirming Billy’s existence and VisionQuest, which can notably be out earlier than Doomsday hits theaters, revealing that Tommy will probably be a part of the story within the not too long ago launched trailer, it does really feel like varied components are coming collectively to make this return attainable and even match with a narrative arc from Marvel Comics. Now, yet one more new replace has followers suspecting Wanda’s return is imminent, though I’m nonetheless not completely satisfied.
Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch Stunt Double Posted a Throwback Photograph
Earlier in the present day, Jennifer White, who was the stunt double for Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch within the MCU, shared a throwback photograph on her Instagram account, that includes each herself and Olsen again in 2014. In all equity, this might be little greater than a real throwback (in spite of everything, it’s Throwback Thursday), however that’s not what number of followers are taking it. In reality, a number of feedback in response to 1 publish capturing the Instagram story replicate followers’ hope that this picture, which was shared on the identical time that viewers anticipation for Doomsday is ramping up, might be a touch that each White and Olsen are about to make their mutual MCU return in Doomsday.
One such remark reads, “Screaming crying throwing up welcome again motherrrrrrr,” and one other says, “WE ARE SO BACK.” There are additionally a number of gifs in response to the X publish, together with one which exhibits Hawkeye in Avengers: Endgame telling Nat to not give him hope. As a lot as I need to have fun alongside the previous, I’ve to confess that I’m at present way more aligned with the latter. Whereas that is an attention-grabbing time for White to publish a throwback picture with Olsen, it’s unlikely that she would achieve this if she and Olsen had been each being informed to maintain their potential return below wraps, as they completely can be. This previous photograph is nowhere close to sufficient to persuade me that Wanda is certainly coming again.
Nonetheless, not all hope is misplaced. The connection to the arc within the comics is maybe essentially the most compelling cause up to now to imagine that Wanda might truly be making an MCU return as a result of it simply looks like such a no brainer match. In reality, not solely Wanda’s comedian e book connection to Doom but in addition her sons’ roles in that story and the truth that VisionQuest is confirmed to be the tip of that trilogy of exhibits all level to the concept that Doomsday is the precise proper time to deliver her again to life. And, whereas her return is much from confirmed, it could be genuinely surprising in the event that they killed off this character who so many followers love and need to see return and by no means introduced her again.
