Glen Powell might lastly be making his manner towards taking part in a superhero on display. Regardless of taking part in a Wall Avenue dealer in 2012’s The Darkish Knight Rises, the actor hasn’t been formally connected to any main superhero or comedian ebook roles within the years since, however that hasn’t been a foul factor. In actual fact, Powell’s profession has had a meteoric rise through the years, little question bolstered by appearances in blockbusters like High Gun: Maverick and Twisters. Now, he might have reached a spot the place a cape and tights are lastly calling.
As we speak’s information comes from Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider e-newsletter, the place he reveals that he’s “heard Glen Powell has been in talks with DC a couple of huge position that requires a serious dedication/a number of choices.” The little tidbit comes on the heels of DC Studios growing a brand new John Constantine film, with Sneider dropping the tease of Powell’s potential talks with DC Studios afterward. That mentioned, there’s most likely no manner that the Austin, Texas native is being thought-about to play the Liverpool-born exorcist from the DCU. Nevertheless, Powell being in talks for a task that’s described as “a serious dedication” isn’t nothing, but it surely begs the query, what position?
Glen Powell Reportedly In Talks for Main DC Function
Clearly, the most important position out of James Gunn’s DCU that hasn’t been solid, which followers might instantly assume may very well be the one which Powell is in talks for, is the caped crusader, Batman. All we all know in regards to the DCU plans for Batman is that The Courageous and the Daring film will ship a narrative with a longtime Bat-Household, that means the 38-year-old Powell is maybe the appropriate age to play a mentor to youthful actors in different heroic roles.
One other potential character that we all know DC Studios is working to carry to life is Booster Gold, the smarmy hero from the long run whose sensibilities align with a few of Powell’s earlier work. It might be straightforward to see Powell slotting into the position for the DCU, but it surely’s additionally unclear if the hero would have a sufficiently big place within the bigger franchise to be thought-about a “main dedication” past simply the TV collection that has been within the works for a number of years now.
One hero that looks like match for Glen Powell, who hasn’t been particularly namedropped for the DCU’s bigger plans, is Inexperienced Arrow. Although the emerald archer had years on TV with The CW’s collection, he’s by no means had a big-screen presence, and it’s fairly straightforward to think about Powell with that goatee and mustache. One other, who may arrive before we predict, is The Flash. Although no official plans for that hero have been confirmed both, a serious antagonist for The Flash will arrive subsequent yr with The Individuals vs. Gorilla Grodd TV collection, which may very well be constructing towards the hero’s debut.
