Absolute Batman is a revolutionary sequence for the Darkish Knight, reimagining all of his iconic mythos into bolder, darker variations, and nowhere is that clearer than with the Joker. As a substitute of a killer clown, he’s a literal demon that stays younger by injecting orphan blood. The landmark twenty-fifth concern noticed Batman lastly take the combat to the Joker, and the villain totally annihilated him, revealing that there was one factor he needed from Batman that the Darkish Knight hadn’t given him but. He needed Batman to proceed ceaselessly, and the final piece of Batman’s soul. For each of these issues, the Joker wanted Batman to foster that subsequent technology, and that’s precisely what’s taking place.
The ultimate web page of this spectacular concern revealed that Catwoman is pregnant, with whom we will solely assume is her and Batman’s baby. The Joker is by some means conscious of this and, after that baby, both to push Batman to the sting, guarantee he can have a Batman nicely past Bruce, or each. After all, the actual query is who this baby will transform. The highest candidates are both Helena or Damian, each of whom make a compelling case for his or her existence. We’ll be going over precisely why every is believable, and why it would even be each of them, and what which means for Batman’s future. With out additional ado, let’s dive proper into it.
The Bats of a Time But to Be Each Deserve the Highlight
The Joker had each probability to kill Batman, however selected to not, implying that he desires Bruce to dwell to, on the very least, join along with his baby. The primary possibility is Helena, provided that, in most timelines, she is Bruce and Selina’s baby. There’s already proof to recommend her arrival, most notably in the truth that Helena Bertinelli is considered one of Selina’s oldest mates. It will be straightforward to think about one thing taking place to Bertinelli, resulting in Selina naming her daughter after her deceased good friend. She’s even been proven to take up the Batman mantle in some continuities, which might permit the Joker to proceed the road of Batmen nicely into the long run to maintain him entertained.
After all, the opposite possibility is Batman’s better-known organic baby, Damian. Normally, Damian is Bruce and Talia’s son, however that might simply be swapped round for this universe, contemplating Talia is at the moment entangled with the Absolute Man of Metal. Damian is a personality who has all the time been obsessive about turning into Batman, and has usually flirted with the concept he would develop into a monster in that position as a substitute of a hero. A foul-end Damian is precisely the kind of Batman the Joker would need. He’d be ruthless and endlessly efficient, dedicating his thoughts, physique, and soul to the mission till he fell aside, being way more prone to cross it onto the following technology than Helena would. Simply check out all of those Batman variations of Damian.
After all, there’s additionally the chance that it is going to be each of them. Two children would double the drama and the hazard. On condition that the Joker is certainly after these kids, I may simply think about him kidnapping considered one of them to boost himself, turning them into the last word weapon to kill Bruce and their sibling, which is the precise type of sadistic destiny that will make this Joker cackle. If that’s the case, Damian is the most certainly to be kidnapped and raised because the Joker’s son, tying into the thought of permitting his villainous heritage to stay intact whereas eradicating the love he ought to have gotten from his father. Batman would want to forestall a future the place his kids, standing on reverse sides of a warfare, destroy one another. Nonetheless, all of that is assuming that these children are Bruce’s in any respect.
Fatherhood and the Burden of the Bat-Mantle
Fatherhood has all the time been an important theme for Batman. His journey in the direction of superherdom began as a result of he misplaced his dad and mom at such a younger age, and the reminiscence of his dad has all the time guided him in the direction of righteousness. The Absolute Batman is much more linked to this concept, provided that it was solely his dad who died, and that an enormous swathe of “The Straw Man” arc has centered on Bruce grappling with the thought of whether or not his dad was alive or not. Fatherhood is caught in his thoughts, which may all be a part of the Joker’s plan to prime him to boost a baby of his personal, however there’s additionally the chance that this child isn’t Batman’s, however the Joker’s.
This principle is certainly on the market, however observe my logic right here. We all know that Selina and Bruce are collectively, however she’s additionally spent the final a number of years integrating herself into excessive society for her heists. It’s attainable that she met Jack Grimm throughout that point, lengthy earlier than she knew what he actually was. The Joker getting Catwoman pregnant is one thing that I might by no means want upon this world, however he may have carried out precisely that to tug a remaining win over Batman and shatter his soul in that particular manner. It’s unlikely, however the kind of petty factor that this Joker would positively want to discover.
Both manner, Batman goes to boost this baby or kids alongside Catwoman, and that’s going to alter him. He’ll expertise firsthand the love his dad and mom felt for him, and return it tenfold to his personal baby. He’ll positively be an overprotective father, and it’s prone to make him 100 instances extra paranoid. The Joker is sort of definitely hoping to make use of these emotions as a weak spot to make Batman undergo extra, however he’ll miss crucial side; it’ll be somebody new for Batman to combat for. Bruce has all the time thrived when he’s combating for somebody, enhancing the world for the individuals he cares about. Now, as a substitute of a metropolis or idea of the long run, it’s his personal baby. Batman goes to come back again with a vengeance and dedication not like something earlier than, and even when that’s precisely what the Joker desires, there’s no manner he’s ready for it.
Who do you hope this new baby is, and the way would you hope the Robin mantle is carried on for them? My intestine says it’ll be Helena, however my coronary heart says Damian. Tell us your vote, and even if you happen to suppose it’ll be another person.
